436a435ba7 New webpage on our website: The amd64 motherboards list. We want to collect
information about motherboards for an amd64 platform and how well FreeBSD
is running on them. Please direct your submissions directly to this file,
to pav or flz, or to www category in GNATS. I expect this page to grow
quickly.

This mini-project was inspired by endless stream of posts on freebsd-amd64
list asking for hardware suggestions.

7bd4270f52 Some minor tweaks:
- Refer to 386 CPUs as 80386 instead of i386 since i386 is commonly used
as the architecture name rather than a specific processor.
- Clarify that 5.x also supports 80386's, just not in GENERIC.
- Note that SMP only works on Pentium-class CPUs and higher (we don't
support systems with multiple 486's and external APICs). Also, tweak
the wording to avoid saying 'supported' twice in a row.

f8d1ca8d72 Switch to XSL for two reasons:
1. It allows us to put the McKinley die in the upper right corner of
the page and thus make it part of the header. This is aesthetically
   more pleasing.
2. It makes it easier for us to add news entries.

Aside for point 1, the page is still the same as the previous index.

67eb1b335c Significant update (for whatever it means):
o make it clear that we want to work towards becoming a tier 1 by
giving the subject a subsection of its own. List what it involves.
o Add a "sharpening the saw" section for the many things that have
been kludged or hacked and that need a revisit and possibly a
   rewrite.
o Flesh out the "ports and packages" section. This is growing in

743a556208 Replace the contents in this file with a notice that the ia64 home
page has been moved. The actual contents has not been replicated.
It mostly consisted of a list of activities tied to a person (ie
latest news). Even though voluntary work is carried by recognition
of the work being done, it's not an good way to build web pages
if it's the only real contents and it has to be updated by the
people who actually do the work. I don't know about others, but I
hate writing about myself...
Not to mention that the concept of latest news forces one to keep
updating the pages, which given the current state of affairs is
just too much to ask.
This change does not mean that the new ia64 pages cannot possibly
revive the information that's "lost" with this change.
