a4c99a9bbb The path for /favicon.ico must be absolute, otherwise CGI scripts with

While here also fix the release date in news.xml.  7.4-RC1/8.2-RC1 were announced on 27th December, not on 18th December 2010.

59dafb9b6e Modify the link to the "supported releases" a little bit. 
Instead of linking to the table/overview, link to the corresponding section of the page.

This way users will also see information describing the data in the table.

8fb3387486 When enabling compression send 'gzip' as Content-Encoding instead of the 
deprecated 'x-gzip'. Acording to RFC2616 clients should handle "x-gzip"
but it seems that at least some Android devices does not.

In general the webserver instead of the CGI should probably do
compression, but this is an easy fix.
