6aef2bdedc Remove outdated information from the FreeBSD/MIPS platform page: it is 
unlikely we will ever support SGI MIPS, we're certainly not actively
targeting it.  Make the page more similarly match other platform pages.

Still to do: add more details of platforms we do support.

3a4c59d740 Update the i386 platform page to closer reflect the early 21st century. 
Gently push people towards the amd64 platform, especially for machines
with >4GiB RAM.  Drop one dead link, and one link to a very outdated page.

353f760ff7 Update somewhat stale and occasionally over-colloquial website guidance on 
new committer proposals to:

- Provide more details on the contents of a suitable proposal, including
  a request for evidence of constructive engagement with the mentor (e.g.,
  through successfully completed patch cycles).
- Be more overt about identifying community participation (but also more
  open about what it means -- mention BSD-conference talks, for example).
- Suggest contacing core@ informally first if there are worries about
  whether there is sufficient contribution or concern about a proposal
  failing.
- Expand thinking on 'vendor commit bits' -- both the responsibilities of
  the mentor, and also the hope that such contributors will broaden their
  interests over time.

15a1f36d23 Don't output the "this page has been split into sections" message on the 
alphabetical list of Consulting Services, as it hasn't been.  This
mirrors the same format that the Software Vendors pages take.
