96d12925db The ports tarball went from about 5 megabytes -> about 7 megabytes.

f32bd3a3f0 Try to solve a chicken-egg problem: 
Makefile first includes Makefile.gen and then
regenerate Makefile.gen - but it don't read Makefile.gen again.
If the contents of the old and the new Makefile.gen differs
make may fail.

This happens if a category disappeared from INDEX (e.g. a typo in
CATEGORY variable). The Makefile try to build the old
category.sgml file which is no longer available.

1bfe2d2ce5 Get www site info from INDEX instead of WWW_SITE. Note that I only 
fixed the en and es versions; the ja version did not have the www
stuff in the first place so the translators can merge in the recent
changes at their leisure. :)

6b0622eb5f Modifications to portindex so that links to both Y2k Statements and WWW sites are 
included as part of its output...

Changes to Makefile also committed to reflect that portindex now looks for
three args vs just one ... the Y2k stuff is easy to rip out after the "scare" if
finished, as its only about 10 lines of easy to identify code...

94a5e3b1e7 Update XFree86 reference to 3.3.3.1 and also make it clear that 
one can get the entire ports collection at once, not just in individual
pieces (which should actually be kind of discouraged due to dependency issues).

9f0f2fbc7b Undo rev 1.18 which broke the sort order in master-index 
Replace `--' with `-=' inside comments as a workaround so
the SGML compiler will not die.

3abbc2802a Load local config file portindex.conf if exists. You can override in 
portindex.conf the variables for the default web and the ftp server. This
make it easy to maintain a local web mirror and let the
URL point to yourself and not to the standard FreeBSD FTP server.
