the "main" release be MI. Bring back links to installation
instructions as a single, MI link to the handbook's installation
chapter.

finally united.
Add information about FreeBSD-derived projects FreeSBIE and PC-BSD on
two of the second level pages of the FreeBSD website.

- Move includes.nav*.sgml to share/sgml/navibar.ent and
<lang>/share/sgml/nabibar.l10n.ent.
- Move includes.sgml and includes.xsl to
share/sgml/common.ent, share/sgml/header.ent, <lang>/share/sgml/l10n.ent,
and <lang>?share/sgml/header.l10n.ent.
- Move most of XSLT libraries to share/sgml/*.xsl and
<lang>/share/sgml/*.xsl.
- Move news.xml and other *.xml files for the similar purpose
to share/sgml/*.xml and <lang>/share/sgml/*.xml.
- Switch to use a custom DTD for HTML document. Now we use
"-//FreeBSD//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional-Based Extension", which is
HTML 4.01 + some entities previously pulled via
"<!ENTITY % includes SYSTEM "includes.sgml"> %includes;" line.
The location of entity file will be resolved by using catalog file.
- Add DOCTYPE declearation to XML documents. This makes the followings
possible:
* Use of &foo; entities for SGML in an XML file instead of defining
{$foo} as the same content.
* &symbolic; entities for Latin characters.
- Duplicated information between SGML and XML, or English and
translated doc, has been removed as much as possible.
New test "releases" should have their version numbers bumped in
share/sgml/includes.release.*, and the whole thing is easily
turn-off-and-on-able via knobs in the same files.

release documentation, and lists 4.11.
- Add DVD where we just referred to CD-ROM.
- Remove note about installing from one installation disk image, since
you now (for quite a while) need multiple floppy images, and it's
pretty standard to only require one CD-ROM for basic install.
- Also mention BSD Mall and put a link to the Handbook section of
CD-ROM/DVD vendors.
- Suggest downloading i386 when in doubt.
- Remove direct links to -CURRENT and -STABLE package collections FTP,
since browsing the FTP directories is a rather bad way to get an
idea of which packages exist.
- Add a link to FreshPorts.
- Use trademark symbol for MS-DOS.
- Use standard capitalization of Ports Collection.
- s/ftp/FTP/g and s/WWW/Web/g where appropriate.
- s/-current/-CURRENT/g where appropriate. [1]

- Link to the HTML page in the Handbook that has FTP mirrors.
- Remove text about commercial software demos, since at least the
official FreeBSD releases does not have that anymore.
one in a comment; since the former is clearly visible from the top of
the file, the latter's only purpose was to bloat the repository a
little more.
