ab8e322645 A revised version, that fixes typos, clarifies some points that caused 
EMAIL questions, corrects a serious error in the I/O port map, and adds
information on the recently released 32-bit superset Intel 82374 DMA
controller appearing in PCI (and EISA) systems.

I recommend this updated section be included in the 2.2.x tree ASAP.

As always, comments and corrections are welcome.

7b320196b0 (1) Add "pkg_delete; make reinstall; make package" to the list of 
things to do while testing.  This is to make sure obsolete files
    do not remain in pkg/PLIST.

(2) Add small section about auto-generating master.passwd entries.
    List currently used UIDs.

(3) While I'm here, update the tcl shared library version number (was
    7.3) in the example. ;)

1071bb41e6 Comment out the paragraph that talks about how to make level 372 -current 
source tree from the 2.0R source tree since it's not easy to find the
CTM delta listed there.  (In fact, I couldn't find it after all.)
Actually, even if you could find this, you probably have to get tons of
deltas which probably are more than just getting one recent base delta. :)

is the example is quite spartan.

As pointed out by Bruce there are *three* different filenames being used:

	cvs             FREEBSD.README
	groff           FREEBSD-upgrade
	libgmp          FREEBSD-upgrade
	libpcap         FREEBSD-upgrade
	tcpdump         FREEBSD-upgrade
	traceroute      FREEBSD-upgrade
	tcl             README.FreeBSD

The handbook states "README.FreeBSD".  Perhaps this should be changed?

a38ab5994f Added UNIX System Architecture by Prabhat Andleigh. 
This is a really nice small (274 pages) book on UNIX architecture.
It "reads" like K&R, has good straightforward explantions and nice diagrams
of structures and things, w/o unnessiary bulk.  It covers both BSD and sysV.
I wish this had been the textbook for my undergrad OS class rather
than Tannenbam.

568ce254a0 Ask user to carefully examine changes when sending an upgrade. (Actually, 
this is the main reason why we want them as diffs.)  Also, ask them to
explicitly state files that are added or deleted (lazy committers like me
often forget to "cvs add" or "cvs remove").
