8d098a5b57 Use the serial comma as per docproj guidelines. Fix other grammar 
booboos (some relevant to translators).

jkh removed the handbook's specific hardware reccomendations list some
time ago.

f031daaef3 Clear $SGML_CATALOG_FILES environment variable before sgmlnorm. 
Sometimes sgmlnorm failed if $SGML_CATALOG_FILES contains incompatible
catalogs.
