4f9a076331 The current flow of our website does not allow easily advertising 
that we will be soon entering the release cycle.  As such, we are
not able to easily link to the upcoming release schedule.html page
from the index page unless we already have BETA release builds on
the FTP mirrors.

Implement some evil to eliminate this limitation:

 - In share/xml/release.l10n.ent, move reusable text from the
   'helptest' header, and into a beta.helptest macro, and include
   the new macro in beta.desc.

 - Add a new entity, beta.local.where, which is ignored by default.
   When enabled in the schedule.xml for the upcoming release, it
   prints information about where to download the testing builds.

 - Add two new entities, beta.upcoming and beta2.upcoming, which
   are used in index.xsl, and when set, direct the URL to the
   upcoming release schedule.html page instead of directly to
   where.html.  With this change, we can advertise that a release
   cycle is about to start, and not need downloadable images yet.

d607d4335b Massive whitespace cleanup (translators can ignore) 
Entries in this file are copy/pasted more often than not, so it would be
best if they followed the proper doceng guidelines for line length and
tabs/spaces etc.

I cleaned up all entries from 2012 to current.

This will allow attribution for sponsored or contributed
work on FreeBSD in the release notes.

This is a prerequisite to additional upcoming changes.

While here, modify docbook.css to recognize a new 'contrib'
<span> class.

Also, set FreeBSD=%H on docbook50.dtd to allow the commit
to go through.

38b32d78ce - Add line number indicators to programlisting and screen in the HTML 
version. This makes linewrap indicators unnecessary since the

8bd14a12f1 Update webupdate and webupdate.wrapper scripts to always 
install from a clean build directory.

PUBDIR is where the installed files end up for the public
site.  DESTDIR is now suffixed with '-clean', and always
purged before a new build starts.

When the build finishes, rsync populates PUBDIR from the
resulting DESTDIR files.  When doing a full site refresh,
'rsync --delete' is used to purge stale files.

5daa221a87 - Line wrap indicators are rendered in the verbatim texts with the help

7621bec9f3 Add instructions on creating an OpenPGP key. Also add a checkkey.sh 
script that can be used to test keys for minimal security requirements.
A long list of people helped with this.  In particular, Michael Lucas
and David Wolfskill contributed many corrections and suggestions.  I
started the script based on the addkey.sh script, and David Wolfskill
worked it into something usable.  After more testing, the text can
suggest using it to check keys before committing them.

eeee0b20e6 Add "overflow: auto;" to CSS. With Firefox and other browsers, this 
puts a scrollbar on programlisting and screen elements that have lines
too long to fit on the screen.  The previous version just wrapped these
long lines with no indication.  Proposed on the -doc mailing list in
August, no public objections, discussed with gabor@ who may have an
alternate method.  In the meantime, this is better than what we had.

ae0395da63 Simplify localization layer for XSLT stylesheets. lang/share/xsl/*.xsl are 
now picked up via share/xsl/*.xsl and they are empty when there is no
localized content in it.  This prevents inconsistency between share/xsl/*.xsl
and the localized ones.

db0b08db8f - Define l10n.ent as an entity in localized directories and make them be 
picked up via XML catalog in freebsd50.ent or xhtml10-freebsd.dtd,
  not entities.ent.  The L10N entities always come first to be able to
  override everything.

- Define &nbsp; as &#x20; in EUC-JP encoding.  This is a workaround to
  prevent an invalid character in EUC-JP caused by converting 0xa0 in
  UTF-8 (EUC-JP does not allow 0xa0) in XSLT processing.  Theoretically
  it should be &#xa0; still in the final XML output.

- Make XML catalog resolution consistent for l10n.ent.  This should be
  revisited for the others later.

3ee8aa890b - Reapply r42902, which has been accidentally reverted 
Optimise the images in the bsdinstall chapter using graphics/pngrewrite -
they only require 4 bits per pixel, but several of them were stored as
8bpp PNGs.  This approximately halves the total file size, allowing the
handbook pages to load much faster.

- Convert to DocBook 5.0
  - Use XSL-FO and FOP for PDF rendering instead of DSSSL and Jade
  - Drop SGML catalogs since the tree is purely XML now
  - Drop DSSSL stylesheets
  - Drop other legacy constructs
  - Add support for Schematron validation
  - Add Schematron constraints
  - Add support for RELAX NG validation
  - Add experimental support for dblatex
