d4512f0cdc Avoid pointing people to individual people. Generally the most involved people will respond on the mailing list. 
Keep discussions in the public where they will help many more people than just the 2 people involved in the conversation.

7c675210e8 Somewhat simplify the about page. It is unlikely that a user new to FreeBSD wants a complete technical listing of the architectures we support. 
This page is still a wall of text and still contains irrelevant information, but this is a start.

9879ea4ea3 This patch does the following: 
- general tightening and clarification of content

- the section 3s were changed to section 2s to prevent this chapter from going too deep into headings and to be more consistent with the previous section; I will make igor happy with a white-space change after the rest of the changes to chapter 5 are complete

- listings were updated to latest version of pkgng

a1a71f75c2 This patch does the following: 
- renames this section to "Terminology"

- formats it as individual definitions rather than as individual subsections; this makes the chapter
 less deep heading wise and matches the style used in other sections such as http://www.freebsd.org/
doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/users-introduction.html

- separates window manager and desktop environment

- tightens up the wording

Once edits are complete on this chapter, a separate whitespace fix will make igor happy.

c41442ae34 This patch does the following: 
- comments author names

- incorporates "9.4. Kernel Drivers, Subsystems, and Modules" into "9.2. Why Build a Custom Kernel?"

- fixes reference to 9.4 in bsdinstall chapter

- puts the configuration file section before the building the kernel section

- makes it clearer how to get src and cp the needed config file

- general wordsmithing to make the first half of this chapter less confusing
