716a25249c Resurrect the newsflash entries for 1996 and 1997 on their own pages. 
Mentioned on cvs-committers back at the beginning of January, a couple
of ayes, no noes.  It's just taken me three months to get around to
doing it.

3d52f1aac9 Replace numeric entites with their symbolic equivalents.

d26b8fdc75 This is a disclaimer about the borken nature of the web based send-pr

c2064e7c81 Fix various errors found during my previous whitespace commit along with 
some cosmetic changes.  Some of what was changed includes:

  o -current -> -CURRENT
  o -stable -> -STABLE
  o Walnut Creek CD-ROM -> Walnut Creek CDROM
  o freebsdcon.com -> freebsdcon.org (.org is the 'main' domain name)
  o removed xcontest blurb since it never actually happened
  o minor grammatical fixes

8d4363944d Add '<' and '>' symbols around email addresses in the originator line. 
It used to look like:

and now looks like:

with the email address being a hypertext link in both cases.

549131b114 Add "Synchronization Status" feature in Japanese web pages. 
1. Add .sgml -> .revinc rule in web.mk.  This tells how to make SGML
   include file which contains revision information.

2. Add ja/revcheck script.  This script makes revision information
   from English SGML file and localized one.

3. Add *.revinc files into GENDOCS in localized Makefile.  This will
   generate *.revinc files from each *.sgml files.

4. Add %rev.diff entity into localized includes.sgml.

5. Add statement to include *.revinc for each *.sgml files.
   (this will be followed separately.)

ab928f5a0c Fixed path to the 'how to make a port' section of the handbook. Seems

c529a23607 Change the "Getting FreeBSD" link in the sidebar to point to 
availability.html instead of the Handbook installation section.

availability.html includes references to buying CDs, and the
Handbook doesn't.  There's still a link from availability.html to
the Handbook.

77b8b76970 Undo revision revision 1.34: Set up for FreeBSD repo options ($FreeBSD$) 
in /usr/local/etc/cvsweb-freebsd. The repo options are only valid for
the FreeBSD CVS tree.

BTW, the cvsweb.cgi mirror sites should update their
/usr/local/etc/cvsweb-freebsd too if possible.

3a51524e71 Don't build the /ports/ pages if WEB_ONLY is set. The ports pages are 
automatically created from /usr/ports/INDEX and it does not make
sense to test the ports pages (Note: WEB_ONLY is a debug variable
for the webmaster, nothing else).

01f01019ea Add a new variable CVS_READONLY for read-only check outs. 
The default value is YES. If your cvs command does not support
read-only check outs (global cvs option -R), set CVS_READONLY to
an empty value, e.g.:
