303ba7e0f5 s/XFce/Xfce/g 
The Xfce project choose to de-capitalize the letter 'F' because it no longer
uses XForms from which this abbreviation originated.

f923fa9417 A little face lifting of the "USB Storage Devices" to avoid the split 
between ehci(4) and o/uchi(4) which comes from a time when USB 2.X
support was "young".  Let's mention usbconfig(8).  This section is now
8.X, 7.X and 6.X compliant.

ec17046281 Update Flash plugin section: add Flash 10 installation for 8.X. Keep 
Flash 9 for 7.X.  In both cases, for 7.X and 8.X, I privileged an
installation of the Flash plugin with the default linux_base without the
need of tweaks that may be obsolete/wrong when the ports are updated.

42f5b5cd77 The ipfw.ko and ipdivert.ko modules can be loaded from loader.conf too, 
so add a short section that describes how to use the loader to achieve
the same effect as a kernel rebuild with:

	options IPFIREWALL

221a08c599 Document __FreeBSD_version 800098 - 800100. 
Note that the entries 98 and 99 might cover a lot more changes as did the
96 and 97 before as we did not do bumps for a while due to getting too
close to 100 before the code freeze.

Semantics have changed now and 100 no longer marks the .0 release.

d569783d08 Replace most of the static 'FreeBSD' instances with &os; 
While updating the Greek translation of the 'releng' article, I noticed
many places where 'FreeBSD' could be replaced by &os;.  This article
includes a few bits that are pretty FreeBSD-specific, but the general
idea of keeping a stable/current branch is relatively system-, type- and
version-agnostic.  Using &os; is ok almost everywhere.

1fcbaa6950 Fix three instances where a sentence ends with a parenthesis, but the 
sentence is not terminated by a period, because it remains in the
closing parenthesis like this: .)

Fix this by switching the position of the parenthesis and the period and
add an extra space after as well.

7abbc5958a Remove the section on old-style startup scripts from the "Starting Services" 
section. We don't want any new examples of these kinds of scripts.

f33d7f0e8d Add some text describing the "include" kernel configuration directive, 
and give an example.  In practice, including GENERIC and then simply
providing a few additional options or devices is the preferred way to
configure kernels now, rather than writing them from scratch (except
in embedded environments).  This text could probably use some
refinement.

cf1dd0e5d7 Recompiling a kernel is no longer a rite of passed for nearly all BSD 
users; only advanced users now compile kernels.  Expand rationale for
building a custom kernel: unused features still take up memory that
could be used by applications.

8022eecc1c A revamp of Handbook's 'firewalls' chapter. 
This is a rather lengthy patch, that attempts to fix several problems:

- Reduce repetition. There are several paragraphs in the original text that are repeated throughout the sections
- Markup fixes. Replace single quotes with <literal> tags, add <acronym>s and several other changes to improve markup consistency
- Convert to passive voice where possible, eliminate few first person references
- Several grammar and language fixes
- The original text implied that the same TCP packet would go back and forth between source and destination.  Rephrase relevant paragraphs to clarify these are different packets
- Includes many fixes submitted in a PR [1] and a link fix submitted on -doc [2]
- Numerous other smaller changes, too many to mention here

52ee421a00 Add an explanation of the reasons that buildworld, buildkernel,

21a39b1947 Add `adjkerntz -i' to the list of single-user commands. 
In non-GMT timezones, missing adjkerntz may install files with
timestamps `in the future'.  This may make automated reports from
IDS tools a bit surprising after the system boots normally, or it
may cause problems with make(1)-like dependency checking.

dfe9966e3f Using "mount -t msdos" is deprecated; the canonical name of the 
filesystem type is "msdosfs".  There has been some compatibility
glue in mount(8) to silently convert "mount -t msdos" to "mount
-t msdosfs" for a while now, but using the deprecated name may
cause errors when someone tries to "umount -t msdos".  The later
doesn't work at all.

b8f42eff83 Add a section on updating the documentation set. It describes some 
methods for updating, like using CVSup and rebuilding the documentation
from source, and using Docsnap.  Of course, other methods can be added
later on, you can think of it as a stub for such methods.

Note: The sub-section about Docsnap is temporarly disabled as there is
no active Docsnap server at the moment.

2ae8c70234 The freebsd-update utility can be used on systems with custom kernels. 
This update explains how to:

- Use freebsd-update for security updates, recompiling the custom kernel when
  necessary
- Install a fresh copy of GENERIC in /boot/GENERIC on systems lacking it
- Use GENERIC as an intermediate step when upgrading to a newer release using
  the upgrade option of freebsd-update

7ca8ef2c44 Tell that setting gateway_enable="YES" will make a persistent 
change after a reboot.

Also mention that one can use sysctl net.inet.ip.forwarding=1
to enable the gateway setting immediatly.
